Abstract:

This one-of-a-kind textbook focuses on the challenges of translating evidence into nursing practice. It is designed to help graduate students in Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) courses meet the core competency requirements, content, and knowledge of the DNP curriculum. It has been written by internationally known nursing faculty involved in different areas of expert clinical practice and in translating evidence.

The text presents an interdisciplinary application that provides readers with content for both clinically based and nonclinically based DNP courses. Divided into three main sections it begins by discussing several models for evidence-based practice and frameworks for translation. It addresses the practical challenges of translation of evidence for improving clinical outcomes, safety and quality, informatics, leadership, education, and health policy. The book includes methods and techniques to employ translation across settings, and related evaluation strategies to demonstrate improvement in practice and clinical care outcomes. Other important features include a discussion of legal and ethical issues in translation, case studies, and activities for application of the content for learning. --Book Jacket.
